The defect is filled with a certified bone substitute material or the patient's own bone, securing the entire area with a membrane that stabilises the reconstruction. In many cases, augmentation is combined with simultaneous implant placement, which shortens the overall treatment time. Healing is monitored during regular follow-up visits.

The rebuilt bone typically matures over a period of four to nine months, depending on the extent of the procedure. During this time, we recommend meticulous hygiene, avoiding smoking, and protecting the operated area. Once regeneration is confirmed on an X-ray, we proceed with the implantation as planned. Thanks to the augmentation, the implants gain a stable, healthy foundation for many years to come.
