A cyst is a pathological, fluid-filled space within the bone, most commonly associated with a necrotic tooth or an impacted wisdom tooth. It grows slowly and does not cause pain for a long time; however, over time, it can lead to bone expansion, tooth displacement, recurrent inflammation, or fistulas. Most cysts are detected on a panoramic X-ray or a CT scan performed for other indications.

We plan the treatment based on a tomography scan, which shows the exact extent of the lesion and its relationship to important structures. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia: the cyst is completely enucleated, and the bone defect is filled with bone substitute material if necessary. The removed lesion is sent for histopathological examination, and healing is monitored during follow-up visits and through X-rays.
